Rule number 1 always uninstall older version of fxsound not by the classic method Windows uninstall function because you 100% leaving behind files and Windows registry entries left behind by the program’s uninstaller or by the Windows uninstall function. Rule 2 download Revo Uninstaller it will save you form a lot of trouble, i am using for years and i never had a single problem. An remember always restart you PC/Laptop after uninstalling a program with Revo Uninstaller

When fxsound is installed over an older version, the previous installation is automatically removed.

I really don’t understand how is it that fx is only crashing on your pc am using FxSound from Aug 11 with zero crashes and this is no joke Fxsound is running strong on my pc

To identify what’s causing fxsound to crash you must go to the Event logs → windows logs in that folder is the application go there in the small window find Fxsound and Double-click on the Error event - a new window will open with the details of the crash Click the Copy button, then paste the text into a document. Attach that document here so the devs can identify the problem if i miss something there is a more details here Spectrasonics - Knowledgebase

Hi @doolhoofd , the crash is observed from our Watson failure system. What I could tell is that it is an App crash. Mostly happened on the users of FxSound. The crash versions are on v1.1.16.0 and v1.1.17.0. I really did not see crash on v1.1.23.0 so far. I don’t have any other information to share. BTW, the crash could be caused by app stack overrun, which modified the rip value stored in stack, so that it goes to an unexpected instruction.

@doolhoofd we still could see the crash data captured by our telemetry system. The crash happened on old App versions: v1.1.16.0, v1.1.17.0, v1.1.20.0, and v1.1.22.0. That means still a lot of users using old App version. Do you have any plan to instruct them to install/upgrade to the latest App version?
