FxSound vs Breakaway Audio Enhancer?

I’ve been a Breakaway Audio Enhancer user for a long, long time, using it for more than a decade, actually, I’ve been using it for 2 decades now because I was a Volume Logic user in the early 2000s too before it got rebranded into Breakaway Audio Enhancer later.

So far I’ve been happy with Breakaway Audio Enhancer and I’ve never looked elsewhere (it’s not free though…), but now I see that FxSound is free so I’m kinda interested in it, so my question is:

How good is FxSound compared to Breakaway Audio Enhancer? Are they the same type of program under the hood? is FxSound more optimized and lightweight? Will it work for every application on the PC like Breakaway Audio Enhancer does?

And not only those programs, since I’ve never looked elsewhere, what other programs besides FxSound and Breakaway Audio Enhancer exist out there that are better?

Tried it a long time ago in trial version. I must say that in my opinion FxSound is just simplier, more friendly to new users and of course it’s free now.

Sound quality is a very subjective case, everyone interested should check both apps by yourself.
