Reactivate Mute in Windows Quicklaunch bar

Hello. Just installed FXSound and works good, but now the ‘mute’ button on my keyboard or in the quicklaunch bar is no longer effective. I’d like to mute the sound in a quick way. Thanks for your help

Hi, welcome to the forum.
First questions: which versions of Windows and FxSound are you running, and have you read the troubleshooting list at the top yet?

Hi. I am running Windows 11, and FXSound v1.1.16. I tried to search the forum but could not really find a relevant post. In fact, not only the mute button on my keyboard is disabled. Volume buttons also no longer work. Thanks for your help

The first recommended fix would be to visit fxsound.com, click the Download for Windows button, and run the installer to update to the latest version.

Rebooting your computer after updating, would also help.
Have you verified that the volume controls are broken for all audio devices, or only for one specific device?
And have you tested if they start working again after disabling the FxSound Speakers device in Windows Sound Settings? You can safely ignore the Oops! pop-up in this case.
This is a link to the standard troubleshooting list,

Apologies.
I forgot to mention that you can also update via the Help tab of the Settings.

I have the latest version and rebooted. Apologize, I think the issue comes from the fact that I don’t use the computer audio card to generate audio but an external audio card (Native Instruments Komplete Audio 1), and it looks like the volume settings of it cannot naturally be controlled by Windows

There might still be a way to get the Native Instruments soundcard to work together with FxSound, by installing either EarTrumpet or Volume², small free applications for system-wide volume control.
