Updated to 1.27. No longer "turns on"

FX loads and appears to be “working” visually, but the on/off button does not turn on the FX audio. The graphical bar is blank when playing music (the section above equalizer). On Windows 11 and everything is updated. I tried Headphones, speakers, monitor speakers settings. Restarted computer. What am I missing?

Hi Don,
Could you please run through the list with the most common troubleshooting suggestions bannered and pinned at the top of the forum, and post back with your results after that?
Thanks.

@BucketsDon:

This happened to me just now, on v1.1.27.0.
No idea what went wrong, but it was fixed in less than a minute, by exiting via tray, and restarting.

To exit:

exit

To restart: either use the Start Menu shortcut, or run the FxSound.exe found in the folder

C: \ Program Files \ FxSound LLC \ FxSound

Once this started happening, it didn’t stop. It started happening every few seconds. And even uninstalling through Control Panel, or manually removing the driver, and then installing a previous version, did not fix it.
The things that restored sound, were either switching FxSound Off with the main Power button, or disabling the FxSound Speakers device in Windows Sound Settings.
This is a nasty bug. All I can do, is ask @bvijay to look into it, and, hopefully, to fix it asap.
Apologies for the inconvenience!

One day later, on v1.1.22.0, and everything is back to normal…

Hi @BucketsDon
Based on the symptoms you have given that the visualizer in FxSound is not giving any indication of audio playback, this could be an issue where the volume is set to low or muted in the volume mixer for system sounds or the application which is playing the audio.
If you encounter this issue again you can check the volume in volume mixer.
