No audio after restart or unlock

Whenever my computer goes to a lock screen or is restarted, and I log back in, I have to manually select my audio device in order get sound. FxSound is selected by default but it provides no sound until I manually go in and select Speakers (High Definition Audio Device). It then automatically resets the selection to FxSound and I have sound.

I’ve gone through these boards looking for a solution and none of them work for me. My problem is NOT that FxSound doesn’t start up automatically. It does. The problem is that even though it starts automatically every time, it will not give me any audio until I manually select my audio device.

Please advise. This is the only thing I dislike about this product.

Hi Eric, welcome to the forum.
Have you read the troubleshooting list at the top yet?
Which version of FxSound do you have installed?
The latest release is v1.1.26.0 available from fxsound.com as always, and your version number is shown in the Help tab of the Settings menu.
Have you tried adjusting the settings related to automatic switching, or since v1.1.26.0 those related to the Preferred Output Device?
If your issue is related to device switching inside FxSound’s drop-down device selection menu only, then you could also set a customized keyboard shortcut inside the General tab of the Settings to switch devices faster.
If your issue is related to device switching inside Windows Sound Settings: have you tried setting your speakers as the Default Communication Device yet?
And have you disabled all settings related to Exclusive Mode, Enhancements and Hardware Acceleration for all devices (as per the troubleshooting list)?
This is the thread on the new Preferred Output Device feature,

This is the issue on Standby/Sleep Mode,

What i have done in Windows settings /Audio is deselecting and deactivating other devices like TV and others and make FX as default, so no more confusion on startup.

My version is 1.1.16.0. I’ll download the new version and see how it goes.

Sorry for the slow response. I didn’t realize an answer had come in so quickly. The notification got filtered.

OK, I installed the new update yesterday. Came back to my computer this morning, logged, played a YouTube video and I have sound without having to re-select my sound device first. Great! Thank you!
