Basically, I have a scarlett focusrite 2i2 3rd gen. My headphones I got is beyerdynamic dt 990 pro. It works for everything but discord is still really quiet, problem is that if I set the output on discord to FXsound no matter how quiet my friends are it echos and its starting to boggle my mind. Ive tried changing all settings on discord, if someone has any tips please let me know.
I have a feeling that bc the headset is plugged into the interface it creates a small loop somehow considering my interface is selected for my mic on discord and my sound on fxsound.

Make sure your headphones are set as the Default Communication Device.
If the echo issue persists, then try simply turning off FxSound with its main purple Power button. Alternatively, you can exit FxSound by right-clicking the tray icon and selecting Exit at the bottom of the menu; or, you can disable the FxSound Speakers device in Windows Sound Settings while using Discord as long as necessary, without any harmful effects, except for the Oops! pop-up, which you can safely ignore in this case, and re-enable it anytime when needed.
Running the FxSound.exe found in
C: \ Program Files \ FxSound LLC \ FxSound
is the surest way to restart FxSound.
I am well-aware that this is stating the obvious; nevertheless, checking all the volume settings in your system as well as the Volume Mixer utility first, is definitely worth a minute of your time:
Thanks so much for the help man, I think I may have found a solution that I overlooked. If I set the device to FXSound on discord and enable echo cancellation I will be able to hear, and no echo. At least from the few hours weve had to talk. So hopefully its fixed. My assumption I was coming to was that it something to do with the voice mirror so I can hear myself.
It’s probably also worth mentioning that FxSound’s Ambience effect purposefully adds a form of echo known as reverb, a.k.a. reverberation, to your audio output, while the Surround Sound effect widens the stereo spread, which could further exacerbate echo issues.
So try keeping the Surround Sound effect slider set under 5, and the Ambience slider in particular as low as possible, in order to eliminate echoes.
