I’ve had your application on both my PC and my laptop. My laptop is relatively new and I’ve had it since January. And I immediately installed FX sound. For months, it worked properly, but about a week ago, I started having issues with my audio not working at all.
I even reinstalled Windows, but it’s my laptop’s audio is quiet without FX sound so I reinstalled it, hoping that it would work, and once again it broke my audio. It even broke my microphone too!!
And as long as I’m using my built-in speakers, it does not work. I’ve noticed this happens every time I try to change my audio output.
Also, I got this error after recording that video
“Problem with recording audio if an open app is using WASAPI exclusive mode, change it to shared mode.”
And all the it keeps crashing, and sometimes it doesn’t show up when I click on it.
I don’t want to have to continue only to use my AirPods, but I also want to keep FX sound because I think it’s a very nice application. Can anyone help me fix this problem?
I’ve also tried everything in this thread to the best of my abilities
It’s nice to know that you responded. I like this app, and I want to continue using so fixing this is a big deal to me. I wanna be able to trust it with my other devices.
Hi @johnathanthompson,
I tried enabling Windows Sonic for Headphones with FxSound on and I did not see the same issue that is seen in the screen recording.
If error is reported on exclusive mode audio, it could be one of the exclusive mode audio application that you have installed trying to take control of an audio device.
Apart from FxSound, what are the other audio applications that you have installed on your laptop?
Thank you so much for responding. I’ve tried to disable the exclusive mode multiple times, but it didn’t seem to fix the problem. Also, I haven’t installed any other audio applications, especially since I reset my laptop.
Do you know if any default applications change audio?
It only cuts out when nothing is being played, not every time, but occasionally.
If FX sound is running, it will just play nothing. However, if I disable FX Sound and switch the output to my speakers, YouTube displays “Audio renderer error. Please restart your computer.” Other video players will say HTML5: Video not properly encoded
