FX Sound does not detect Airpods after reconnect, have to manually repair

Hello everyone,

I’ve been a long-time user of FXSound and it has always worked great for me. However, I’ve run into a very annoying and consistent problem since I started using my AirPods 2.

The Problem:

  1. I connect a single AirPod, and both my laptop and FXSound detect it perfectly.

  2. When that AirPod’s battery dies, it disconnects.

  3. I switch to the other AirPod. My laptop connects to it automatically.

  4. FXSound does not detect the newly connected AirPod. The application window shows no output device.

What I’ve Tried (and what didn’t work):

  • Restarting the FXSound program.

  • Toggling FXSound on and off.

  • Setting the “Preferred Output Device” to “Newly Connected Devices.”

The Only Solution: The only thing that works is manually disconnecting the AirPods via Bluetooth and then reconnecting them. This is inconvenient and disrupts my workflow.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone have a better solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for reporting this issue. I am able to replicate this connection issue with USB-C wired AirPods on Windows 11 ARM64. I will debug it further.
