To me, even after turning off the fxsound using the right click option in the taskbar, the fxsound is there in the list but cannot select it. Even if I click to select, it goes back to the default output set by Windows.
FxSound application is running and you turn it off through
or by selecting “Turn off” in the system tray icon context menu
Audio control is given to OS and you can select any speaker.
If you select “FxSound Speakers” in this mode, FxSound application will select the default speaker.
But, if you exit FxSound application, and select “FxSound Speakers” in system tray, then there is no software running in order to select the default speaker. The audio output will go to FxSound Speakers which is a virtual device and you will not hear the audio.
FxSound Speaker is a system component, it cannot be removed or disabled when the application exits.
girl that is the fxsound driver, it is not a device it’s a virtual sound driver like you see people have Realtek speaker[1], just treat it like a normal headphone, you can go into sound setting and disallow it (it is “disable” when you right click the output device, in the old sound panel). TDLR, imagine if you have 2 headphones connected and one[2] has been set as always preferred (allow), you can’t hear the sound on your 2nd headphone? just diable the first.
