How can I stop FX dominating my settings?

When I plug my headphones in the sound still comes through FX, if I try to click back on the normal speaker setting it bounces back to FX. The exact same happens with my headphones, I cannot click on the. How do I decide instead of FX taking over? Thanks.

Apologies. FxSound doesn’t work unless it is the selected playback device. So we automatically revert FxSound to the playback device in Windows and adjust the playback device selected in FxSound to the one that was selected in Windows. If you want to not use FxSound, please quit FxSound.

Hi James

i should have phrased that better, I don’t want to quit, I want to use it on headphones too but I cannot! The headphones don’t seem to work since I installed it.

This reply applies to my first interpretation of your question.

  1. Right click the systray icon and choose [Turn off]
You are now listening to ‘straight audio’ while FXsound is still active.

Please clarify - “headphones don’t seem to work”

Without FXsound, do your headphones work?
Are your headphones bluetooth?

i had similar issues with FX not recognizing speakers or headphones but to some nebulous FX Speaker(??). i was unable to change or even turn off the “FX speaker”. after nearly a month of messing with it, going around and around with all the ‘fixes’ i just completely uninstalled FXsound and was done with it!! absolutely NO regrets!!

Yet you remain.
