Ambience setting distorts/muffles/garbles the bass. Can bass be isolated from Ambience processing?

I understand your question, and you’re not the first to inquire about the Effects.
This was the recent answer from FxSound’s lead engineer to a similar question about the Clarity slider:

By looking at the DSP code I couldn’t find the exact function of the Clarity filter at the frequency level. I see that the filter values are passed as parameters to the DSP for quantization. But at the moment I couldn’t go more deeper in the code to find the answer you are looking for.
