When I get notified of an update, I proceed with the process but I get this box displayed that the INSTALLER IS NO LONGER RESPONDING.
Can you try uninstalling the previous version and then download and install the latest version instead of updating?
I can’t even uninstall it without the same message about the installer. Tried uninstalling using Windows Control Panel/Programs. WEIRD!

I have attached some links to previous articles which discuss uninstallation. Please go through them and see if they seem relevant to uninstall the app. I will let you know if I find some solution in the meantime.
