Installed a proffered update to 1.2.11.0 today. Response to clicks is very sluggish and no sound at any output. Had to turn it off. Is there a way to step back to the previous version?

Can you try rebooting your system.
If you still want to rollback to older version, you can get it from Releases · fxsound2/fxsound-app
I had rebooted. I downgraded to 1.2.3 then let it upgrade to 1.2.11.0 and it’s OK now. Thanks.

Same boat here after 1.2.11.0, the lag on clicks was the giveaway something was off. You can roll back by grabbing the previous installer from their site or GitHub releases, uninstall the current one first, then reinstall the older build. Might want to hold off on updating again until they push a fix. Worth flagging your output device too in case it’s config related.
The UI responsiveness and no audio issue was due to an invalid empty audio device getting enumerated.
The issue is fixed and I have released v1.2.13.0 as a hot fix.
Please use this version.
On v1.2.11.0 you can reboot the system to remove the invalid device and FxSound will work normally.
Thanks for adding the details. In JonF’s case, reinstalling/rolling through an older build and then updating again seemed to clear it, so this may be an install/update state issue rather than the 1.2.11.0 build failing for everyone.
If you’re still seeing the click lag or no audio after 1.2.11.0, please share your Windows version and the output device you’re using. Also worth trying a reboot and checking that FxSound is still selected correctly in the Windows sound output path before rolling back.
Just simply uninstall and the download your preferred version, no?
