Problem after new update

With the new update, every time my PC goes stand-by mode and turns on again, the application fails to work. It shows the sound is coming out and EQ moves as if it works normally, but I don’t hear anything. Is there a way to roll back to older version?

Can you check the volume and mute setting of the output device in Control Panel > Sound or System > Sound.

You can try installing the latest beta version 1.2.12.0 where a mute and volume related issue is fixed. You can find all the releases at Releases · fxsound2/fxsound-app

Same problem since the update. Installing 1.2.12.0 beta did not fix it.

Further, somehow it’s causing video stutter. The FxSound window controls are unresponsive, not even allowing me to press the power button to turn it off. Everything goes back to normal once I force kill the FxSound process from the Task Manager. I’m wondering if this thread is related: Driver battle - Get Help - FxSound.

A dummy audio device is getting created sometimes which causes this issue. A temporary solution is to reboot and the device gets removed.

I will release the fix soon.

Hi, same here. Since i did the update, EVERY time my PC go stand by FX sound changes my microphone input by the one by default. It’s kinda annoying because you always forget about it and can happen like 10 times a day.

That said, i really love this app and i want to say thank you to the people working on it.

And the “Prioritize new output device” feature isn’t working; I selected this option, but the default output device doesn’t automatically switch when I plug in my headphones.

I am also having an issue. Just downloaded v1.2.11.0 and I can’t get any sound to play through Fx. I select the proper audio output in Fx and I hear sound for a split second then nothing. I turn off Fx and I hear sound again. Can we get a fix please? Is there a way to download an earlier version?

I’m experiencing the same issue and I don’t know how to fix it.

Same problem here - no audio out of realtek - the new update completely broke FXSound for me - it is unusable. It also lags out like crazy when interacting with the interface panel - something really wrong here.

I couldn’t even exit the application without shutting down through task manager.

The UI responsiveness and no audio issue was due to an invalid empty audio device getting enumerated.

The issue is fixed and I have released v1.2.13.0 as a hot fix.

Please use this version.

On v1.2.11.0 you can reboot the system to remove the invalid device and FxSound will work normally.

I’ve updated it, but there’s still no sound. I don’t know what to do to get sound back. The only way to get sound is to turn off the power switch in FxSound and not use FxSound.

@giabaoveso Can you please check the speaker icon in the system tray and ensure that audio is not muted.

I am still getting the same problem after the 1.2.13.0 update. It looks like the ghost device is still popping.

Something updated is that I could close the application without using the task manager and the video stuttering is way better.

Thanks for confirming. I am working on the fix to avoid the ghost device from getting created. In the mean time you can reboot to delete the ghost device.

I’ve tried various methods, but I still can’t get FxSound to produce sound again.

Hi @giabaoveso

Can you check the volume level set for the applications in System > Sound mixer and the volume level for the Output devices in System > Sound > All sound devices ?

Did you try rebooting?

I’ve tried almost all of your methods, but it still didn’t work.

i have a problem after updating the fxsound, it’s working but the sound sometimes go lower and higher, I don’t know why it becomes like even I’m just playing a music it goes low volume and suddenly high and repeat, I’m regretting updating it, is there a way to roll back to previous version?

Did you try changing the value in Volume leveling?
