since Starting minimized was closed I still face the same problem. would be great to get an update since installing another app (which is not free) isnt a real solutions. appreciate it

@chai can you please minimise FxSound and share this file content,
%APPDATA%\FxSound\FxSound.settings
If FxSound is minimised, the settings will be updated and on reboot, FxSound will start minimised.
Also please share the output of the command,
icacls %APPDATA%\FxSound\FxSound.settings
There is a possibility that settings is not getting updated because of access permissions to the file/folder.

sorry for the late reply. since i reported that issue it disappeared from itself
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>so i guess it looks good
btw if i want to fix all settings or i.e. the default speaker shall i mark the settings file to write proteted?

Hi @chai,
Making settings file read-only will prevent any changes to get saved and reflected on application restart. Read-only settings file is not a normal scenario and we will not be able to support any unexpected behaviour arising further after such manual tweak.
