I will report my problem and the solution I found by reading the forum today, January 1, 2025!
I installed Fxsound 1.1.27.0 on my computer, it installed normally and worked on Windows 10 for the final and updated version!
On my laptop with Windows 10 Home Single Language, final and updated, when the installation is finished and the program tries to open on its own, it gives me the error (settings file not found)!
Detail the program installed normally!
This error had already happened other times with other versions!
Reading the forum today, January 1, 2025, I found the solution of copying the Fxsound folder that was inside the ProgramData directory to the AppData directory, but then the first problem appeared: the Fxsound folder is protected without privileges, I don’t understand why because I’m a full administrator Windows) I didn’t even want to waste my time messing with folder privileges, I used the NTFSAccess 2.5 program which does this automatically and then you can copy the Fxsound folder to C:\Users\Administrador\AppData in my case the program worked perfectly!
Here’s my report, I think there’s something that needs to be corrected in the program’s installer, so I joined this forum today to report this error!
@bvijay maybe you can help with this.
Hi @RonaldoPDN,
%APPDATA% folder is the per user application settings folder and normally the user has write access to this folder.
Even if settings file is not present, FxSound creates a new file in %APPDATA%\FxSound.
We will try to add the feature in the installer to set the %APPDATA%\FxSound folder write permission in case the user does not have the permission by default.
Good afternoon, I’m not a programmer, just a user of the program and I reported the problem that I saw and after reading some solutions on the forum itself I chose one and it worked, what I checked was that the Fxsound folder that contains FxSound.settings which it is in the Program Data directory and could not be opened due to not having privileges, so in my case copy the Fxsound folder to the C:\Users\Administrador\AppData\ directory!
So I unlocked the folder and copied it to C:\Users\Administrador\AppData\ and then the program opened normally!
Detail the privilege problem was not in appdata and programdata when trying to copy or open the fxsound folder to copy the fxsound folder to the appdat directory!
