When the installation is finished and the program tries to open on its own, it gives me the error (settings file not found)!

I will report my problem and the solution I found by reading the forum today, January 1, 2025!
I installed Fxsound 1.1.27.0 on my computer, it installed normally and worked on Windows 10 for the final and updated version!
On my laptop with Windows 10 Home Single Language, final and updated, when the installation is finished and the program tries to open on its own, it gives me the error (settings file not found)!
Detail the program installed normally!
This error had already happened other times with other versions!
Reading the forum today, January 1, 2025, I found the solution of copying the Fxsound folder that was inside the ProgramData directory to the AppData directory, but then the first problem appeared: the Fxsound folder is protected without privileges, I don’t understand why because I’m a full administrator Windows) I didn’t even want to waste my time messing with folder privileges, I used the NTFSAccess 2.5 program which does this automatically and then you can copy the Fxsound folder to C:\Users\Administrador\AppData in my case the program worked perfectly!
Here’s my report, I think there’s something that needs to be corrected in the program’s installer, so I joined this forum today to report this error!

@bvijay maybe you can help with this.

Hi @RonaldoPDN,
%APPDATA% folder is the per user application settings folder and normally the user has write access to this folder.
Even if settings file is not present, FxSound creates a new file in %APPDATA%\FxSound.
We will try to add the feature in the installer to set the %APPDATA%\FxSound folder write permission in case the user does not have the permission by default.

Good afternoon, I’m not a programmer, just a user of the program and I reported the problem that I saw and after reading some solutions on the forum itself I chose one and it worked, what I checked was that the Fxsound folder that contains FxSound.settings which it is in the Program Data directory and could not be opened due to not having privileges, so in my case copy the Fxsound folder to the C:\Users\Administrador\AppData\ directory!
So I unlocked the folder and copied it to C:\Users\Administrador\AppData\ and then the program opened normally!

Detail the privilege problem was not in appdata and programdata when trying to copy or open the fxsound folder to copy the fxsound folder to the appdat directory!

Hello, I updated today 26/01/2025 to the new version 1.1.28.0, the same error that I mentioned before after installing the new version remains the same, I had to repeat the same solution that I described before, just like that program worked perfectly, and I noticed an improvement in audio quality with this new version

Improvement in audio quality in 1.1.28.0???

Maybe its a placebo effect, there is nothing related to improvement in the sound engine in the 1.1.28.0 Change log, ins´t that right @bvijay ?

I don’t believe there should be any changes in the sound in this version change. But the placebo effect is real

I understood what you said, the question of me continuing to write on the forum and that the new version continues with the same installation problem and the same solution I said earlier, I just notified that the problem continues!

Hi @RonaldoPDN
The error occurs if the application cannot create the settings file at %APPDATA%\FxSound, due to permission restrictions to the logged in user. Normally the user account is expected to have full permission to %APPDATA%.

I will work on a solution to address this corner case issue and provide the fix in the coming release.

Good afternoon, yes I understood your explanation, I just notified that the error still occurs, I said because I am an advanced Windows user, my user has full access to Windows, I am an administrator on my account, I just find it strange that this error happens, but anyway thank you for your attention and I will wait for your solution, thank you very much!
