I have a Lenovo laptop and a Sony TV. The TV is connected to the laptop by using an HDMI wire and I’m duplicating the laptop screen to the TV. I set the preferred output device in FxSound to the Sony TV so that the sound comes from the TV.
The problem is that the country that I’m living in is crap and the government doesn’t give 24 hours electricity and the electricity switches every couple of hours between government electricity and generator electricity. The electricity cuts in the house for like 30 seconds each time the electricity switches and the TV switches off when that happens and then it switches on when the electricity comes back.
The output device in FxSound should be Sony TV when the TV switches on when the electricity comes back. Sometimes the output device in FxSound is the laptop speaker when the TV switches on when the electricity comes back and if I set the output device in FxSound to Sony TV then there is no sound from the TV.
I have to do the following to fix the issue:
- Change the projection settings from duplicate to PC screen only
- Change the output device in FxSound to laptop speaker
- Change the projection settings back to duplicate and that changes the output device in FxSound to Sony TV. The sound comes back on the TV.
Why is the problem happening and how can I stop it from happening?
