Save new preset path partially broken

I have encountered this scenario.

I have an FX Sound preset up. I change some parameters. I select the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines on top of each other). The ‘Save New Preset’ option is DISABLED. I am not allowed or able to save a new preset.
However, f I select a different preset, I get a dialog asking me to ‘Name New Saved Preset’ … and it works. There is a new preset, with the parameters specified, DESPITE the ‘Save New Preset’ option being disabled.

Why is ‘Save New Preset’ disabled? Why would it ever be disabled? Is there a use-case or workflow where it should be disabled? And if it was to be disabled for some reason, why would the “save the unsaved preset” then allow a save?

This strikes me as a bug.

they’re just text files but with extension .fac[1] either just update, run the installer again (yes this will potentially reset all presets), or just go find the folder “Factsoft” in Fxsound directory in your pc, and write some text to fix any future preset’s problem. It’s quite easy once you see the file.

regarding “save new preset”, did you ever see an asterisk at all [ * ] — the one condition/signal to tell you "yes, you made changes, now you can hit [Save new preset] for a

NEW

preset.

or you could just had a intangible Tantrumn

say you have custom [preset #1]—> make changes —> instead of hit [override existing preset], you prolly try to hit save as new —> and give it the same damn name [preset #1] and here we are.

༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

or we both just losing our minds for nothing and you still see the asterisks there and your damn presets are still there, just not saved yet

  1. i like how it sounds  ↩︎

The bug is the asymmetry. There are 2 logical paths in the program to save a new preset. One of them becomes disabled, while the other remains operational. Inconsistent logic.

Right, but the bug is – ‘Save New Preset’ is not enabled. If I change the settings, and then change the preset, the software allows me to save a new preset. But I cannot simply save a new preset using the hamburger menu.

do you notice there’s no — ASTERISK? just saying, but think bout this, the app isn’t a wicked teenage SOB nor it is smart enough to pick and play with you specifically… my point stands, because you see I made a change and voila, idk what you did maybe try reinstalling or update to fix any underlying issues that I got nothing else with my halfwake psychic ability, sorry brother.

also just one question, did you mean “path” as in “method/practice-flow/way-to-do”? cuz otherwise, what did you even mean by “path” i’m lost… (cuz there’s nothing really to tell you about the fxsound’s path—folder, it just save the preset into its appdata folder, not the main folder, it behaves just as same as (92.18+7.7299999)% the other apps we ever use.
