I’m on 1.1.30.0 (the forum pin says we are on 1.1.27.0) and after this update, the presets are no longer available.
This is true across whichever driver/output I choose.
I successfully uninstalled, downloaded, and re-installed the app to restore the preset options–but that is a workaround, either way, there is a bug.
(I had already just uninstalled and re-installed on Mar 7, for what it’s worth. That’s my go-to.)
I have not actively made any changes to my system since this preset bug appeared, but there was a Windows update this week.
(I’m running Windows 11)
The preset files are usually in the installation directory under %PROGRAMFILES%\FxSound LLC\FxSound\Factsoft.
Are you running FxSound.exe from the path %PROGRAMFILES%\FxSound LLC\FxSound?
No, it’s running from the Desktop (not a shortcut, the exe is there). I’m surprised–I don’t recall installing it there, I almost always let the installer use the default location, and even if I change it, it’s not to install a program directly to the desktop. (I sometimes edit the install when the progam has a bunch of redundant slashes for the brand/studio/company/product whatever–that’s the only exception.)
Should I uninstall and reinstall clean to the default?
(As I mentioned, after the re-install I do have the presets now. So I’m good for now. But I’d rather not have to keep reinstalling going forward.)
Good to hear that you could get it working and got your presets.
FxSound installer does not prompt to change the installation path and always installs under %PROGRAMFILES%.
If you get the same issue of FxSound running from Desktop, please let us know of the installation conditions that could have caused it.
