Output issue when FxSound is set as default, Win 11, RealTek Audio

Hey all, looking for some input. I have checked some settings and tried to search for my issue but can’t find a fix yet. When I play audio or video through Win Media player, the FxSound EQs work, but my device manager shows both Realtek Speakers and FXSound speakers are playing, even though Fx is set as default.

If I play something through Youtube on Chrome or use Bias FX 2 modeling amp software, just the Realtek device plays and there is no FX EQ control. (pics attached.) Any input would be appreciate. I have the latest version of Fxsound and I am running Win 11 on an AMD Ryzen 7, 64 bit system. I have shut off any audio enhancements and have unchecked “Allow applications to take exclusive control”. Thanks!

What if you try to disable Realtek?

No luck. You can see by the pic with FX as the only enabled device, there is output as the song plays in the devices manager, but no audio plays and no FX processing. Output device is set to FX but in the FxSound App, when I hit the drop down, the only option is the Realtek Speakers.

Control Panel > Sound is showing audio activity on Realtek Audio Speakers because it is selected in FxSound as the output device. FxSound Speakers is a virtual audio device through which FxSound application is processing audio and the output goes to the selected Realtek Audio Speakers which shows activity in control panel. This is expected behaviour. You don’t have to disable the audio devices in Control Panel you can enable them back.

Thanks, I will put it back. Any ideas on what I can try for the issue I am seeing in the original post?

In System > Sound > Volume mixer please check the output device selected. If it is Default and if FxSound is active, then audio should get processed through FxSound

Mine is set to FXSound Speakers. You can see by the picture I have other options, but I cannot select them. For example clicking the Speakers Realtek option will not allow it to change from FXSound. I feel like I have a basic Win 11 Pc setup, have you all not seen other people have this issue? Thanks for the help.

Please click on the arrow next to Google Chrome volume slider. It will expand the UI and show the device selection options.

Please confirm if FxSound or the Default device is selected here,

My Windows 11 version is 10.0.26100.4946. You can update Windows in case if you have an older version.

Awesome, that got it going for me, thank you for taking the time to help!
