Hi all! I’m James Titchener and I’m the CEO of FxSound. I inherited the company my dad (the founder and creator) when he passed in 2016, and have since been working to extend his legacy to make great sound accessible to all.

I live in San Francisco (born and raised) and I use FxSound to stream music, shows, movies, podcasts, and videos. Let me know if you have any music, movies, or show recs! The weirder the better

When I’m not working on FxSound you can find me writing essays and meditations on happiness, healing trauma, and non-duality.

Welcome to the FxSound community! I’m excited to meet you all

Dear James Please comeback for Android. I have been using dfx for Android since 2017 or 18. I have reached a stage where I can’t replace this incredible music player. Recently I purchased a phone with mediatek dimensity 9300 chipset and iam unable to install my love DFX on it. Iam helpless and still using my old phone just for the sake of DFX music. Please help me. I have even written mails requesting you to come back. I am ready to buy a paid version if you come with one.

To be totally honest I think it’s unlikely that we’ll make another music app for android. Our resources are limited, and more and more people are streaming their music. But thank you so much for the support. I’m sorry that we can’t do more.

Hi James,

I’m a music producer and came across fx sounds by accident and I’m very happy with the results.
My suggestion is would it be possible for you to format this in Vst 3 as a Plugin that I could use inside my daw where the applied effects that way can be rendered into the final master.
Because even after processing mastering in bandlab sound Fx still has an extra edge.
It would be nice for a Mastering Plugin to have these particular Accumulative parameters to work with.

Hi - James, and everybody else,

My name is Josef, live in Melbourne Australia, 81 yo, hearing problems, and like music.
Not the modern stuff, of course, but the 'oldies", 60s, 70s, American, Greek, many other countries, classical. opera, and folk music and 60s pop from my native country - Moravia (Czech Republic).

I discovered FxSound just a few days ago when searching for an EQ with simple UI for my wife’s laptop and new Sennheiser headphones.
She is 68 and hearing impaired. She uses hearing aids, but even with that understanding YouTube, Skype, TV on demand, and music is not easy.

Her first impressions are very good, she tried several presets, and she says that music is quite acceptable - hold on - when she selects “Voice”.

So there you are James -
make good sound accessible to all . Including us oldies. There will be more and more of us, and many like me and my wife, with hearing impairment.
It won’t be easy to help us, because everybody is unique, but still - there may be some common issues, and some new ideas.

I have been using Realtek Manager with EQ, before that I had the Equaliser APO with various plug ins, but I am now also using-exploring FxSound.

If I may to make my first suggestion or two -
Regarding this forum - maybe a Wishlist category for suggestions.
Regarding the UI - a Reset button.
When fiddling/experimenting with a particular preset, returning to the original is a bit complicated. One has to select a different preset and answer Yes to abandon changes. A Reset button would be useful.

I am sure I will enjoy reading posts on this forum, and I could be making more suggestions. I have noticed that some other people already asked for it - visual ‘envelope’ to see how individual adjustments work together including Q (not adjustable at the moment) and other parameters. Because without it, one can hear it, but not see what the EQ is actually doing.

Good luck in your work,
Josef
