Whenever I manually mute the sound in Windows 11 (by going into the Windows 11 Quick Panel and muting audio output for everything), it unmutes itself again after a few seconds. That only happens whenever I have FxSound running on my system.
No matter how often I “re-mute” my whole system through Windows 11, it basically instantly gets umuted again. I would of course like to be able to keep my system muted, when I mute it through Windows.
Can somebody please help me? I was not able to find any fix for this in this forum nor in the settings of the app itself.
I am running the latest version of FxSound and I have also already tried all the troubleshooting tips available.
Hi @Waterflame,
If the system volume is muted before FxSound launch, when FxSound is launched system volume gets unmuted.
But if system volume is muted when FxSound is running, it remains muted during audio playback until manually unmuted.
If you are experiencing FxSound automatically unmuting, can you please check if FxSound is set as the default audio device in System > Sound.
What application are you using for audio playback when this unmute happens?
Okay I understand. I have checked my system settings, and yes FxSound is set as the default audio device. I am afraid the issue is still happening though…
This unmute happens whenever my device plays any audio, from any app. But also, it unmutes itself automatically after a certain amount of time without any input from my side. Meaning no audio playback being started, and it still unmutes itself.
