YouTube freezes when I right-click the systray icon. The ‘spinning circle’ appears on the player window when the context menu is accessed.
Same with Firefox in Safe Mode, so not a plug-in.
Short note only as I am on the way out to dinner.

Nvidia recently had a fix for bug that cause driver timeout (byee) and app crash in browser when play DRM content on HDCP monitor (DRM HDCP just relating to digital copyright protection), and Firefox also recently had a fix for youtube autoplay not respecting its setting. Try update/re-updating those 2 first maybe?
Best to always pause media when you attempt to change output or adjust something in any application wise.
AMD 8845HS Radeon 780M
Please explicate “Best to always pause media when you attempt to change output”. Why?

I want to report this as a Firefox bug.
Radeon 780M
Firefox 148.0.2
Does not happen when using MS Edge.
Makes more sense to me that it’s a specific browser’s issue rather than fxsound’s issue, don’t you think? Otherwise every browser and every app that uses audio would’ve been affected indiscriminately with Fxsound on. Fxsound can be a cool tool, but I wouldn’t count on it to fix Firefox’s issue (weeell maybe unless firefox adopt fxsound as a new sugar baby who knows)
you’re free to keep trying doing what you’ve been doing. I simply gave out a refresh on a better practice which I think makes more sense and can’t take anymore than a few clicks, but also don’t deny the fact there might be an improvement in coding somewhere so firefox and fxsound and youtube play nicely who knows. (eventually the returns— specific “feature” will shrink but will take more effort to develop and maintain)
Now I loveee analogy, and full disclosure this is based on my understanding from reading very boring to depressing microsoft’s documents. Audio processing system is a highway interchanges and fxsound is the “left express lane”, then if you close the express lane suddenly (switching device) without putting on a warning sign a few exits before hand (pause media e.g. to instruct the apps to “yo slow down or stop and adapt”), then what could happen is all the cars in the “left express lane” when they have to merge over to the right will cause a massive slow down and traffic stuck on all lane! Better yet, they just chain crash like texas in the winter or when one or multiple drivers in “express lane” just full on rage out crashing other cars cuz other lanes didn’t wanna be decent to slowdown and let them in.
Anyway, ball is still in your court, you can use your gears however you like hell you can fry it on a waking-up-and-choose-violence kinda day too lol. but last the question when these kind of issue arises is do you think there’s a better way you could run things?
Your insolence is noted. I understand the issue is browser-specific as evidenced in the report.
I did not request an analogy. I asked for explication, which by nature will not include insolence where expertise is more sufficient to the task.
If it is in your skillset, please explicate “Best to always pause media when you attempt to change output”. Or, did you mean to say that your best practice is so described and is not based on any functional reality?
Ohhhh, my bad first of all, let me explain it for you differently. If you actually be less bitchy and stop focusing reading subtext[2], you will find the realm of Common Sense ![]()
I doubt you’re capable to read technical documents based on the question asked and the wrong tree where you’ve kept barking at.
Here’s the right subtext for you to read. This tantrum of a question is just like “why do I need to boil an egg with water in a pot instead of throwing it in the microwave?”— well bbg idfk maybe it’s magic, propaganda, or omg wait it could be common sense.
BUT don’t let the world defines wtf you shouldn’t or should do, let yourself free and fuck around till you find out. Hell the worst is the egg explodes all over you when you fuck it with a microwave, who knows, but I still DON’T care about what you do, not a bit. Why come with a bitter mouth then get a tantrum when there isn’t sweet and sugar[3], so spare me your little childlike’s behavior, it’s mediocre and boring. ![]()
So, any other questions I can Explicate? (⌐■_■) ![]()
Guys, let’s please play nice. You’ve both been helpful contributors to the forum, and I appreciate that very much. We need your support. But we also need the forum to be a place where people are treated nicely and are free to ask and answer questions as best they can.
Sorry to both, I can be nice but the b**** in me just won’t turn down any game of “you wanna go low? to hell I’ll be lower”… lol anyway all said I do not have ill intents or wishes toward nobody, my words weren’t the nicest, but no hates given so im sending some good-vibe-making-up kisses
Regarding the youtube, I have been experiencing the page freeze issue which does cause slow/crash reloading the page and also the player. worst case it’d show “cannot reconnect, you’re offline”. can confirm this is quite recent and can be quite often in brave, firefox[1] (my browsers and tested in troubleshoot modes). some Edge users also posted something about same issues too. Tdlr, it’s probably more a Youtube’s problem than any single application’s atm, who knows. ![]()
not UBlock origin’s issue in case you do wonder about that ↩︎
