I noticed that whatever version that came after the one in the title, the method used seems to be different for the Surround Sound, does anyone on the dev team know what changed and also what methods were used for Surround Sound on the build in the title? I have a feeling it’s multiple types of effects.
Side note I really wish this was a VST or had an option to output to multiple devices (VST would be preferable) since most “normie” people, myself include, used the Elgato Wave Link software for multiple outputs with VST’s we can assign to each channel.
I’m not sure surround sound was ever supported officially, you can def find some mentions in this forum which the former mod called it’s kinda a “hit or miss”, some reported it worked, most said otherwise.(i’m sure there are a fews since I remember reading through them)
Well that’s SOL gurl, you ain’t one of “abnormies” . LOL jk but idk your use but aren’t there VST plugins more “fit” for your multiple outputs ideal scenario? I feel like FxSounds is my imperfect perfect bb, but I’m reluctant to say that might be a cute perk over an arm and a leg of extra work. (not 100% sure at this moment, but I remember last time I messed with APO Equalizer and the GUI —PEACE APO, the og project—APO EQ didn’t seem to support two outputs). anyway gl!
Thanks, I tried looking for alternative VST plugins but can’t seem to find the right ones to mimic the surround sound, which is why I think it’s multiple effects being done in FX Sound just for the Surround Sound portion itself.
If I had to describe it, the surround sound I need, basically bleeds volume into both ears at even or near even levels, while also having a slight “left / right” direction when playing games to tell where things are coming from, maybe what I want is Stereo being partially combined into Mono or something? I’m genuinely not sure, all I know is that I prefer the Surround Sound method in 1.1.36.0 and below because it just makes everything genuinely easier to listen to and to play games with.
If you or anyone else knows exactly what that type of effect or multiple effects in combination would be please let me know, I’d genuinely appreciate it a lot.
ok first off sorry chief I mistook the surround sound for spatial sound like Dolby Atmos[1]. However, I can always tell you what I know and you can either close your eyes and let my voice in your head lol, or you can fact-check based on ideas (which I find easier for me since sometimes I just, don’t know where to start).
So let’s get into it cuz i’m just here for the “fights” . You were describing stereo which is panning sound to both ears or channels, mono would sound like humming and you hear your own voice right exactly at the middle, center of your head. The audio’s even levels probably relating to balancing left and right? (e.g my right ear is more “deaf” than the dog-like left ear, so maybe that causes your impression of the uneven sound).
But hearing direction when playing games imo is Spatial sounds/ 3d virtually/ immersive environment or whatever the words these proprietary wolves tryna sell it to us. You can try Dolby Atmos or DTS(?) (i cant remember the name sry), if your headphone has the “7.1” in its name or description it’s also supporting that spatial feature depends if your game’s sound setting allow it.
Another last note, Remember sometimes you’d hear movies or tiktoks or reels only audible in one ear (but it’s nothing wrong with your ears!)? That’s because most the time no matter what apps what ears or headphones ya got, the recording can be slightly shitty in the first place, ya can’t make it sound “immersive” if homie came with bare-boned quality or it is only meant as mono-audio / 1 channel.
But lastly, the version you mentions is very outdated so if I was in your shoes, I wouldn’t trust what I remembered how it felt. sooo the lemon is in your hand, tacos or lemonade, you choose it chef
personally, this is a scam just like Apt-x HD codec , they just want out last kidney:< ↩︎
this binaural test is related to the left-right spatial effect you mentioned above, this test is to tell you whether fxsound or headphones have issues, if you can hear exactly what the description says, then it’s your game or music ↩︎
Either way my question was simple, that version of FxSound used some other method for their surround sound effect than their newer builds, all I’d like to know is how that effect is achieved in the earlier build so I can do the same with either one or multiple VST’s on my own, but that’s something probably only a Dev can answer.
either you must haven’t been reading much or none AI writings or you just tagging anything unfit to your taste as a natural trait. I’m not the funniest, but I came at you friendly more than I’d normally have, that was kinda my loss of the trade…
Sincerely, let me break down your question in plain, simple, and direct words even a baby can chew. You ask for a feature which you have absolutely no way to describe it, repeating the words doesn’t help if you don’t tell what in tf it actually is!
Here are some interpretation for your references:
“I want their method for surround sound…” = “I want a car with 4 wheels but older builds, idk what they changed but it’s definitely not what I remember…”
"I want Surround Sound[1] to do exactly what they used to do [2]" = “I want the car to run and able to turn left/right, but it has to feel exactly how it used to, so I can drive the same with either one hand or two on my own, but that’s probably something the engineer/psychic can answer, they read minds well.”
I don’t expect any appreciation nor do I care, but hey, you’re welcome.
yet it’s there, you said mono and sterio, they’re there too, what’s now? ↩︎
You’re confusing “memories” and “feelings” with what functions a program behaved in before an update, the program used to act a certain way with a certain result, something that can be replicated every time, then they changed the coding and/or the method used, this is all solid stuff that if I was the developer I could easily compare since it’s all there, it’s not feelings, reading minds, memories, etc. Program used to do this, then changes were made, now it does something slightly different, it wasn’t magic, is was a change in an update that both the before and after can be replicated 1000 times over and always get their same results for their versions.
Babes, you wrote a whole bunch of nothingness. Yes they might documented their project’s code each release, but again, what are you looking to get back, what is the method, or what is the actual thing/ problem you are trying to solve!?!?![1] At this point, I don’t know if you know what you want to ask. I sensed you may have some bad vibes toward AI, but sry I can’t psychic today def too lazy for another round of typing…
So here ya go I definitely believe these will help.
I said what I want to find out, how was the surround sound effect achieved in 1.1.36.0, and how was it changed in the next release, that’s all I wanted to know. Thank you for your help but we seem to be going in circles so not going to reply to further comments unless it pertains to the actual answer I’m looking for.
this is first thing that we both agreed to!
Anyway, you’re welcome. You’re free to take it personally, or not, but feels free to toss my no-sugar comments to the bin as you see fit. Fortunately, I ain’t anyone to tell you what and what not[1]. My thoughts and pov I gave you will still be here in case you ever think of them, but you can also refuse to take them in and stay the same as right now, be my guest[2]. glhf <3
just know this isn’t “life-guidance” or “I need to change you” or any kind of way to look down on you… cuz hell, I’m not going out of my way to make people better↩︎
