Settings for hearing impaired

Hello Joan, welcome to the forum.

The drop-down menu in the left corner of the user interface is the Preset selection menu.
FxSound saves a list of Presets there so that those adjustments to the Effects and Equalizer can be quickly reloaded later, and also allows users to create and save their own customized Presets in the section of the drop-down menu below the line.
The Default Preset was recently added for the particular purpose of providing users with a blank slate from which to start in creating their own custom Presets.
It is also worth noting that since v1.1.22.0, users can add up to 100 additional Presets to their UI menu. You can find a link to the instructions on how to set this up here.

The easiest way to increase the volume, is by using the Dynamic Boost Effect, and the easiest way to increase the clarity, is of course the Clarity Effect; apart from that, you can also boost the volume in a more general way by increasing the midrange frequencies a.k.a. mids, and the higher frequencies a.k.a. treble, using the Equalizer.

The video tutorial below, which includes its own written transcript, will walk you through the list of factory-loaded Presets; and underneath that, there’s a quick link to a bigger post I made with a broader explanation of FxSound’s features.
