I currently use Line (Yahama USB DAC) when I am streaming on my PC. FxSound always default to SPDIF-Out (SoundblasterZ) as my startup. I presets changing it to a custom preset doesn’t seem to make a difference. Since I can use FxSound for my phono selelection (wish I could) I need windows to use the soundbaster SPDIF for that and my CD collection, as they are not a DAC input. And yes I still listen to vinyl and CD’s. By the way I think FxSound for streaming is a fantastic solution!
Sorry I’m not sure I’m understanding. Is the default playback device setting in FxSound not working? Do you have the latest version? Download FxSound - Boost Your Sound On Windows
Thanks for getting right back to me and yes I have your latest version. When I turn my computer on the default output is always SPDIF. I’m trying to get the start up default to be Line USB DAC. Currently I always have to go into your program and switch from SPDIF to Line USB.
And sorry to ask, but you have the preferred playback device set in the settings?
James my preferred playback would be line. As that is what my DAC output is to my Yamaha receiver.

Hmm.. weird. Are you using SPDIF? Maybe you could disable it if not.
James wanted to show you here a snip of my settings.
So even with me setting the preferred output it drives to the soundblaster SPDIF output.
PS thanks for the help trying to figure this out. I think it has to be somewhere in my windows setting that is overriding the FXSound setting.
Dave
Thanks for sharing. Yeah I’m not sure why this is happening, but let me know if you find a solution in Windows.
