How to configure 5.1 surround another sound mode in the Windows audio control panel

As shown in the figure, the position of my rear speaker is directly behind, not on both sides. Could you please add a rear-placed configuration scheme?

Hello Jack.
Welcome to the forum.
These are known issues, and, regrettably, we are unable to fix them.

I actually had the same issue but in this case I selected 7.1 surround and clicked next. I was then given the options to uncheck the side speakers. (Win 11 / Realtek) I haven’t checked with an actual surround audio source to see if it helped or changed anything. Mostly trying to get speaker fill to work correctly and this helped some.

thx, I’m using the same configuration as you, but I’m not sure it worked, because every time I click the configuration in audio control panel seems to default to 5.1 channels.

Go to your sound settings…
select more sound settings
select your Realtek speakers and click configure
you should see an area to select 7.1 surround
uncheck the ones you don’t need or want.

Keep in mind that while this says it’s 7.1, I think that once you uncheck a box, it might then register as a 5.1.
