I feel like it would be a bit convenient if I could tell whether FxSound was on just with a simple glance to the bottom right of the screen.

I did not intend to be rude, but, perhaps I was.
I get so many different requests from so many people on this forum, with each person attempting to have this software customized to their own specific desires.
The good news is, that I mentioned your request to the team, and that everyone (including myself) agreed it would be a nice touch.
However, this is not a promise, and the idea will not be integrated by the next planned update, since its implementation is still being discussed and researched.
