FXSound switches output

The FXSound app keeps switching the output audio from my headphones to the PC itself; I have tried nearly everything to stop it from switching

This only happens when I play Minecraft

Hi, good afternoon.

  1. I would first ask you to examine which version of FxSound you have installed (your version number is shown in the Help tab of the Settings), and to check which settings are active inside the General tab. Because a “Preferred Output Device” feature was recently added in the General tab, explained below, while the versions before that had an “Automatically switch to newly connected output device” feature. You can update from the Help tab by clicking “Check for updates,” or find the most recent update on fxsound.com.

  2. Disabling a device inside Windows Sound Settings is usually harmless, and you can re-enable it anytime. Therefore, since you mention that you’ve tried nearly everything, another piece of advice (if the above options are insufficient), would be to go into Windows Sound before you start up Minecraft, and temporarily disable the device that keeps causing the problem.

  3. For more tips on how to make optimal use of FxSound, there’s a troubleshooting list bannered and pinned to the top of the forum. Try disabling Exclusive Mode, Hardware Acceleration (in the Advanced tab) as well as all Enhancements, and try setting FxSound Speakers as the Default Device, with your headphones set as the Default Communication Device, for example.

I hope this helps!
