FxSound is causing the audio to stutter if I unplug\plug in my controller

I have a PS4 controller and it’s plugged into the USB port of my HP laptop which has Windows 11. Before the laptop was using Realtek audio for the speakers and it now uses FxSound audio enhancer for the speakers after I installed FxSound on my laptop.

I noticed that if I am playing a movie in any media player on my HP laptop and I unplug\plug in the PS4 controller then the movie will freeze for a bit and the audio goes away for a few seconds and then the movie continues playing and the audio comes back. I did some tests and I found out that the problem only happens if I use FxSound audio enhancer for the speakers and it doesn’t happen if I use Realtek audio for the speakers.

It looks like the PS4 controller is interfering with FxSound. I have already disabled the PS4 controller from speakers and recording devices in the sound settings in Windows 11 but thw problem is still there.

How do I stop the PS4 controller from interfering with FxSound?

That’s odd… I’m sorry to say that I’m not sure what would be causing this problem and we don’t really have the means to test it to get to the bottom of the issue.

I realize this isn’t ideal, but for now I’d recommend pausing what you’re watching before plugging/unplugging your controller.

I think it’s happening because FxSound thinks that the PS4 controller is an audio device. Can I prevent that?

That’d be surprising as I would imagine that we’d take our cues on that front from Windows, and I can’t imagine Windows thinks your controller is an audio device.

PS4 controllers have a microphone and a speaker. That’s why it’s seen as an audio device.

Can you please arrange a PS4 controller and do some testing?

Try end disable PS4 speaker (audio device) in Windows sound settings if it’s possible.

I have already done that. The problem is still there.

Sorry but because this is a new problem that no one else is reporting and doesn’t seem like a problem that many would have and the issue is relatively minor, we won’t be able to test and troubleshoot this issue ourselves. I wish I had a better answer for you, but our resources are limited.

Just please get a PS4 controller and do the same thing like what I did and see if the same thing happens with you.
