Duplicate FxSound Entry in Startup List – Seeking Guidance

Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. I have a small issue—not something critical, nor does it affect FxSound’s performance in any way—but it does bother me a little. In my Windows startup apps list, I noticed two instances of FxSound appearing.
I’m currently using the latest version v1.1.31.0 on Windows 10. I have already tried uninstalling and performing a fresh installation, ensuring that all related folders were deleted before reinstalling. However, the duplicate entry still persists.
If anyone has encountered this before or knows how to resolve it, I would truly appreciate your insights. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!

Can you see if FxSound shortcut is present is both these folders,
%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
and
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

And also present in the registry key paths,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If FxSound is present in more than one place indicated above, then there will be mulitple entries in Startup.

@bvijay
After checking, I only found FxSound in %PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. I also checked the registry at:
• Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
• Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
but I didn’t find any entries related to FxSound. I’m not sure if there are any limitations with my screen reader when reading these entries.
One more thing I’d like to clarify is that when I mentioned the “Startup” section, I was referring to the Windows settings where we can enable or disable programs from running automatically at login. As I mentioned earlier, this issue is not critical and does not affect FxSound’s performance, but I just find it a bit odd to see the duplicate entry in the settings.
I hope there’s a solution for this. Thanks!

Hi @pheerblue
Thank you for checking and clarifying, Your system settings looks correct for configuring FxSound in Startup.
The duplicate entry could have resulted from not deleting the entry from a previous uninstallation. Can you please check if both the entries redirect to FxSound.exe present in the installation directory?
