Device priority to play music from

hey guys , I love FxSound , and use it on my laptop across several speakers (5-ish sets +/-) across my daily routine , at home , porotable , office , etc’…

you can only choose one set of speakers as your main speaker - is it somehow possible for the app to remember your bluetooth/speaker devices and give them a playing priority ?
lets say:
1st priority - "home speaker "connected
2nd prioruty-“office speakers”
3rd priority - “portable speaker”
4th prioruty - “computer speaker”
please ,woulkd appreciate your kind help , have a good one

I believe what you meant is to set output priority?[1]If all you are looking for is to set a list priority from most preferred output to least, it’s in the settings under “Output Device Preference”

Prioritize new output device will always prefer newest connection over the others

  1. given you are only use one bluetooth output at a time, currently I’m not aware of a way using fxsound on multiple outputs simultaneously ↩︎

there is no option to make a priority list it forgets the unconnected devices and also you cant give them prioruty on the list just the most preffered audio device

I will need you to take a bit more time explain a bit more here, I’m not sure how you’d describe “priority” differently from “preference” here…
sure, though the words aren’t technically identical twins, it’s very suggestive that my top [1] preferred device in the img above is the top prioritized device by fxsound
Unless you check the bottom box as I had described very fkg thoroughly

You meant fxsound forget the still connected devices?? can you try explaining it differently

I’m going to take a stab at explaining because I have a similar enhancement request.

I also have a laptop with externally connected speakers, and use up to 3 different bluetooth devices depending on the situation (not all at once). One for client calls, one for clear music listening, and one is earphones for when I travel for business.

Right now i have my Preferred Output set to “Newly connected output device” which will switch to the bluetooth device once i connect it. This is what I want in this scenario, however the issue is once I disconnect the bluetooth device it will default to my laptop’s built-in speakers which is not ideal because I leave it closed while I work with desk monitors. I would rather it switch to my external speakers and have the laptop speakers as a last resort/priority.

The envisioned solution would be the ability to setup a output priority list (+ accompanying EQ setting) so that if i disconnect a device it will switch to the next one in the list. If it’s not detected then the next one and so on. In this way and in my scenario, my laptop speakers would be last on the list so that my always-connected external speakers would be selected after I disconnect a bluetooth device.

the list about the button newly connected output device is exactly what you wanted: a [output priority] list? 1st device/ the top one will get prio given if you have 3 devices connected to your laptop/pc.

go to volume mixer you can either set exactly what device you want to use per app and globally in case fxsound prio list not satisfying you. Moreover if you just don’t want to use laptop’s speaker at all, just “disable/don’t allow” in sound setting. There’s no really app-fixing remedy except for the fact that now you have all the tools accessible, you can tailor what is best for you.

though I would say there's no benefit to having multiple connections if you only use one at a time, unless you have fancy bluetooth dongles, sure have at it kings. But it's about 2 decades early until windows get their shits together and pay Bluetooth's child support money
