Copying a font to a USB drive won't allow the drive to be ejected (system in use) even with Fx sound uninstalled!

I couldn’t update; uninstalled and downloaded latest from Fx; while trying various Administrator etc. settings I noticed some fonts in Fx taking up about 20 mb; couldn’t delete and got System in use type error; tried sending it to a USB drive but copied. Anyway it’s like the scene in “The Terminator” where even though the body is destroyed the hand continues the mission; it seems that a font is somehow embodied to the point where the device records it as a vital or ongoing requirement for an apparently non-existant App.

Which version of Windows do you use? USB drive formatted to NTFS?

Laptop is fully updated Win. 10 32bit and the drive is formatted as Fat 32; I deleted the font file on another device and Fx sound is working OK; just thought I’d pass the story on as it’s probably about the most bizarre IT situation I’ve ever experienced (it’s competitors took hours of work unlike this oddity). Thanks for the response.
