Audio Switching Issue After Windows Update

Hello,
I have a problem withFXSound that I downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Since the last Windows update, I can no longer switch between my notebookspeakers and my Bluetooth headphones. When I try to switch, the slider immediately jumps back to the normal speakers.

I have already attempted to uninstall the equalizer twice. Once it is uninstalled, I can switch seamlessly between my Bluetooth headphones and the normal speakers again.
Here are some configuration details:

  • Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (installed on October 23, 2024)
  • MS Surface with Intel(R) Core™ i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30 GHz
  • 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
I would appreciate any assistance you can provide with this issue.
    Thank you in advance!
    Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Since the Windows Store version will probably be an older one, the first thing worth trying, is visiting fxsound.com, downloading the latest release, running the installer .exe, and checking if the issue persists afterwards.
Alternatively, you can also update through the Help tab, by clicking “Check for updates.”

The second thing worth trying, would be the reset for the FxSound Speakers device recommended under point 8 of the main troubleshooting list, which is bannered and pinned to the top of the forum.

When using my headphones I have the windows selector set to FxSound Speakers, and then i select my headphones from the FX selector. No problems so far!
