Hi @junkman
Thank you for sharing all the details about FxSound behaviour that you have observed. One of the differences in our setups is that we are testing on Windows 11 and you have Windows 10 Pro 22H2. I will analyse and find out the reasons due to which the system tray icon of the application can get hidden, and get back.
Thank you for the update.
We are glad to hear that the issue is resolved.
Anyway I will keep an eye on this issue and debug it if I ever encounter it.
Apologies for me disappearing. I can confirm the systray icon is still there and Ive had no further issues. Its possible there was a minor crash in something that wasnt noticeable and may not have been to do with FXSound at all.
By the way, Im noticing that I go into the list of preset mix files and delete items or archive them so the list of choices doesnt get really long when you want to select a new eq mix. It would be great if you can pop a small link to the appdata folder they are stored in from the settings panel in the app. It would be super helpful (even give a choice of where they are stored if thats possible).
Tx for your great work.
Hello All,
First, thanks a lot for FXSound. I use it for very long time and it’s really a great app.
Then, i reply to you bvijay because i have exactly the same problem than described by junkman, but for me it’s on windows 11, version 10.0.26100 Build 26100.
The problem started since this very last update (jan 14, 2025)
i tried reinstalling FXSound, repairing windows (img + scan), cleaning the systray icons, nothing make it behave like before anymore…
The icon is only present at the computer restart, but if i open the app, the next time i close it with the X, the icon disappears from the systray (i confirm that it is still operating).
I can run the tests you will indicate me if you wish to.
Hello,
@bvijay I can confirm that on Windows 10 Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045 and FxSound v1.1.28.0 clicking on X when it’s NOT run as administrator hides FxSound (it continues to work), but it’s NOT in the systray.
Running it as administrator and clicking on X hides it in systray.
Hi @qwer1304, In the new beta version 1.1.29.0 we have made some changes to the application behaviour on task bar. Please try this and see if it addresses your issue on Windows 10.

Not any more. I had to UNDO some of the Windows updates because it messed with my sound. I’m using Windows 10 22H2. Now it just exits FX Sound when I run as administrator AND click the X. It’s now in the taskbar or it’s not running. VERY ANNOYING. And, no, it shuts off. It does NOT keep working. So is there a way to fix this??? I’m not reinstalling the updates. They messed my computer up so much I cannot reinstall them. I really hate it in my taskbar but if that’s the only way…
I have always used 4Tray minimizer and it works for FX Sound if you press Ctrl and Esc. FX Sound is now in the tray. Yay!!!
