Like the name says, when I play Fallout 76 FxSound does not effect the sound. The level meter stays flat and the volume is very low. I have tried switching sound output but this did not help.
Other games on Gamepass work fine with FxSound. I loaded 3 different titles and they were fine.
Other just standalone games work very well, this is puzzling .
Any help is greatly appreciated.

If this happens on every output device, then I’d recommend exploring the entirety of the game’s settings first, and browsing their forum and support pages or contacting their customer service with the same question, since this seems highly specific to Fallout 76 only.
Perhaps some form of protection was added to the game to prevent changes to its audio.
Thank you, I will check the Troubleshooting guide. I feel that you are correct in that it may be the way Fallout 76 is written as it also has a restriction so you can not change playback device after the game is launched. And no other Bethesda games do that.

If you absolutely need your audio boosted, you could try EqualizerApo.
It’s a system-wide and completely free EQ tool, and also one of the most precise ones available, with unlimited bands and customization options as well as support for some VST plugins like e.g. Infected Mushroom’s Wider.
It’s extremely easy to install and just as easy to uninstall, and should be fully compatible with FxSound on a sufficiently capable system.
Not guaranteeing it’ll work, but I don’t think it would hurt, either.
I took your advice and switched to EqualizerAPO and it works great! I would love to find a skin for Peace that would have little simulated LEDs on the sliders but for now all is working.
I am going to try Wider just to compare. It looks interesting.

I am having trouble with awider. I installed it but I can not find how it works. I see no icon nor can I see a way to attach it to something
