There are many articles on the lack of a simple balance control in windows. You can adjust the balance via sounds > speaker properties > playback > levels, but these values don’t stay, you have to readjust every time you decide to listen to music. There are a couple ‘offers’ of free balance apps, but they come up as suspicious and risky to download.
Does anyone know of a simple left-right balance app from a safe source?
Thanks for the reply. In both cases, it entails downloading bulky software when I want only one simple feature, left and right balance. I am still looking for a simple balance controller, no luck so far.
Yeah, but I don’t think there’s any way to get that without downloading an application with system-wide effect, like the APO I recommended. The plugin is really easy to use once you’ve installed everything. The whole thing is also very easy to install and uninstall.
(This is a similar concept . . .) I use a 5.1 speakers’ system for movies, music, and communications, and I was wondering if you could include a speaker configuration option with adjustable re-directions tailored to the different types of speakers, every-which-way. The tuning-effect types currently in FxSound seem like they would be this, but they sound like they’re in the feed instead of the speakers, so don’t do much on my system. They should clarify the definition of the sound.
The Balance issue is one that we’ve overlooked, apparently.
I’ve notified @james and @bvijay once more, and added the issue to GitHub,
[EDIT] I tested with the devices I wasn’t using, in this case, non-Bluetooth ones, and they all support a Balance option in their Levels tab.
So, maybe this got solved somewhere along the line.
FYI, I’m using the latest version, v1.1.20.0.
@Ayjjala: To offer a reply for your case in particular, delving into Surround Sound is not a priority at the moment, due to its technical complexity, and our current limitations.
Hopefully this could be examined one fine day in the future.
This thread asks for a left/right balance control withn FXSound. The discussion started 2-3 years ago. Has this been implementd yet? If so, where? I am rinning version 1.1.310.
It really is hard to use the tiny Windows balance control. Please implement this feature and, whilst you are at it, please include a master volume control slider too.
Thanks @Pete6 for reminding us on the balance control feature.
We are in the process of integrating the improvements done by a contributor which includes a master gain control. After completing this development work, we can look into the balance control feature.
Great. The balance control is really the most useful feature for me. I find that many two channel (stereo) recordings nedd tweaking left and/or right in my listening area.
Given that you are considering a balace control feature, perhaps you might consider two independent level (volume) controls. Make these one per channel. Just like on a mix desk. That way you have gain level controls for Left and Right channels. You also now have master volume and balance combined. Just another way to get there. You could also put in a lock button so both channels move together.
Are you referring to the Balance control in the FxSound Speaker properties? I have given the screenshot of the Realtek Speaker balance for reference. The balance control enabled for the device will show the UI from the OS. So, we will not be able to provide a lock button.
Yes, that the panel. It is available on my WIndoes 11 devices that use Realtex audio but is not avalable under WIndows 10 when using FxSound as my image shows. In any event, that panel is buried about three levels down. Controls like Volume and Balance need to be on the desktop from Startup. This is why I ask you to provide this.
The lack of a Balance control when using FxSound is well known and one only has to look further up in the very thread to read of this.
I have just biught a small hardware mixer and a 20-foot four channel XLR snake and I just get what I want with a small hardware upgrade. The mixer will go between my TOPPING D10 Balanced DAC USB to XLR and my JBL Powered speakers. THis will work similar to my real stage sound system. It is a pity because I really wanted a simple software solution. Nobody seems to want to make one.
