When I boot up PC, and Windows 11 starts, I do not hear the startup chime. When I turn off and exit FxSound and reboot, I do hear the chime. Why is this happening? It’s recent months that I’m noticing this. What’s going on? I thought maybe it’s a recent Windows update, though it could be that too. But it seems to be caused by FxSound.
I’ve noticed. I think FxSound is responding poorly. There were also issues with the driver; for instance, after a reboot, the system sound and the volume set in the Volume Mixer were sometimes reset to 0.

Is there a fix? I mean, updating Windows doesn’t seem to help.

I still don’t know the cause of the poor startup response, but regarding the short message tone especially, Microsoft Support helped us troubleshoot the issue from updating the driver all the way to chat support. If only we knew the URL, but that’s all the information we can provide.
