Here’s some more advice by @PLEASE_DELETE and @caleb59:

First, disable all the audio devices which you do not need at all anyway (graphic card ports, for example, are often listed there also). Then check which are your default sound device and default communication device.

on the Windows-side, check if you have the setting for “exclusive mode” enabled (can be googled easily by something like “windows sound - disable exclusive mode”). Make sure you disable it for the correct sound device.
