Hi ! My brother installed FXsound on my recommendation, we have the same monitor ( Iiyama GB2770HSU-B1) almost the same pc except for the ram. On my computer everything works great, the sound is infinitely better than the monitor without fx. But he on his hand, doesn’t have any difference with the equalizer on or off. He configured it exactly like mine. Are we not seeing something ? Is it a known bug ? Are we just dumb ? (last one is highly possible 🫠) ---

Good afternoon, Welcome to the forum. It took me a while to respond, but I wanted to get things right, and it required some effort… I searched through all the previous threads which were similar, where users had the same problem (no difference in sound), but failed to find much useful advice. - [This](https://forum.fxsound.com/t/sound-level-difference/2116/2) is a quick link to my standard troubleshooting list, containing general tips and suggestions. - One of the first things to check would be to make sure you both have the latest version installed, v1.1.19.0, available from [fxsound.com](http://fxsound.com) and/or the [Microsoft Store](https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/fxsound/XP8JK4TBQ03LZ4); you can find the version number in the Help section of the Settings menu. - Another trick is factory-resetting the software by changing the name of the FxSound folder found in AppData; in order to be able to perform it, click on Tools \> Folder Options \> View in the menu bar on top to enable “Show hidden files, folders, and drives.” If it doesn’t work, you can simply revert the folder name change - but note that this will (probably) erase all custom-made presets ànd [bonus presets](https://www.fxsound.com/presets). > [@Problem with accessing FxSound Enhancer by clicking on its icon](https://forum.fxsound.com/t/problem-with-accessing-fxsound-enhancer-by-clicking-on-its-icon/104/7): > > To isolate the issue caused by any setting change, you can try renaming the folder “FxSound” under C: \ Users \ [username] \ AppData.
