I reinstalled FX Sound and updated now Fxsound will not turn on automatically when I boot up my computer. Icon is in task bar but must manually turn on Fxsound each time I boot up the computer. ---

The settings should be saved and applied on reboot. Can you please share the file %APPDATA%\FxSound\FxSound.settings after reboot when FxSound is not on? ---

Thanks for your help. When I had my old computer with Windows 10, I would power on the computer, and FxSound would be automatically turned on/active when I booted up and my preset settings stayed from the previous time I was on the computer. With the computer I bought a year ago with Windows 11, when I sign on the computer, FxSound is not turned on. I have to right click to turn it on ("do you want to allow FxSound to make changes to your computer…I click YES and FxSound turns on…when I sign off, it shuts down FxSound and I have to turn it back on next time I use the computer.) My preset settings are saved fine. All I want is for FxSound to be on automatically when I boot up the computer, like I used to have with Windows 10. Thank you for sharing the details. Ideally you should not be getting the prompt - “do you want to allow FxSound to make changes to your computer”. Are you trying to run FxSound from shortcut in “Run as administrator” mode? I had it on “run as administrator” and I have unchecked this. However, When I go to Apps^Startup Apps, there are two listings there for FxSound. The first is FxSound| FxSound LLC Not Measured. The second is FxSound| FxSound LLC Low Impact. Should I eliminate one of these? They BOTH are in the “ON” position as in your illustration below. When I reboot the computer, FxSound shuts off. I have to click on the FxSound icon in the taskbar to turn it on. It now does NOT ask if I want to run as administrator, rather it turns FxSound on and the EQ screen pops up. I still need to get FxSound where I do not have to click on the FxSound icon in the taskbar after I reboot/power up the computer, to turn on FX Sound. It should turn on automatically when I boot up the computer. ---

Please check if FxSound entry is present in `%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup` and `%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup` You can also go to these links from Win+R and command `shell:startup`, Win+R and command `shell:common startup`. If FxSound link is present in both places, you can remove the link in `%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup` Please check if the FxSound shortcut in `%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup` is working. ---

I have the same issue. The automatic start worked for a while, then stopped working altogether. The link is in `%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup`. I tried the path `%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup` but its the same result. Also, I tried to run the program as administrator, but nothing change. Windows 11 Pro 25H2 build 26200.7171 - FxSound V1.2.1.0 ---

Is FxSound present and enabled in Settings → Apps Startup? Sometimes due to load order FxSound launch may get delayed on startup. Did you wait till all startup applications are loaded. The priority with which Windows launches startup apps can delay the app launch. ---

Thanks for the info. Windows 11 takes a moment or two but has been loading FX just fine. I don’t mind waiting for the app to load. It is worth it, and it does it without my help! ---

You can search some quick guide on google, ai, or video on yt etc, on “how to make a schedule task”, just remember to make a system restore to be safe if you need (though it is only a schedule task, can’t be that bad to mess it up I hope.) | | | --- | | Reason I don’t provide explicit what to do steps: _ **you will find better instructions out there to customize it however you want, rather than from someone whom not using it regularly** _ | P.s I assume if just to [start] a program, it shouldn’t be an issue with scheduled task ---

Isn’t there a way without using Task Scheduler? I mean, I tried this before, and it messed things up. There must be a setting in Windows or FxSound even, to make the program to start up as the first thing, right after login or before that. ---

you know startup apps are basically schedule tasks, so im not sure what the workaround you desire look like ---

Or do you see any delay in FxSound startup? ---

@bvijay there is a delay in FxSound startup. When I log in, a minute or so later, I see that FxSound has started up. ---
