EQ Frequencies Reset After Restart

I customized the frequencies of the Equalizer bands (Frequency Adjusting Wheels) to custom values (for example: 44 Hz, 60 Hz, 170 Hz, 312 Hz, 700 Hz, 1.00 kHz, 2.83 kHz, 5.66 kHz, 11.31 kHz, 14.04 kHz) and saved them as a preset. Everything works fine while the app is running. However, every time I completely close the application and reopen it, the Frequency Adjusting Wheels automatically reset back to the default frequencies (31 Hz, 62 Hz, 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2.00 kHz, 4.00 kHz, 8.00 kHz, 16.00 kHz). The gain levels of each band remain as saved in the preset, but the center frequencies are reset. I’ve already tried overwriting the preset multiple times.

But the problem still persists.

Version: v1.2.13.0

Some equalizer band frequency related fixes are done in v1.2.14.0. I am not able to replicate this in the latest beta version. Can you please try v1.2.16.0?

The equalizer bands worked fine now. Thank you so much!!

Related or not @bvijay ? I have just lost all of my custom EQ presets. Luckily I had an old backup but they all seemed to be purged from FxSound so I could not see or select them until I ran the import. Other than my old backup, is there any way of recovering those? I have done nothing purposeful to trigger a deletion.

V1.2.13

Thanks @Tooky for reporting this issue. When the custom presets were lost, what was the content in the %APPDATA%\FxSound\Presets folder? Did this happen after any event like a crash, Windows update or system reboot?

Unfortunately I cannot readily pinpoint it the event. I have had several reboots in the last couple of weeks, but none were triggered by a crash. It was either to apply Windows updates or rebooting my system due to sluggish behavior.

Regarding my presets folder, I had them set a long time ago but I forget exactly what folder they sat in. I pulled them into FxSound from a local backup I had made just in case, so I didn’t end up looking in that APPDATA subfolder.

Hopefully i can troubleshoot better with your guidance, but for now I can share my experience.
